About Martha Wakenshaw
Bio
I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Seattle University (1988) where I graduated with honors and was a graduate teaching assistant in the counseling program.
My undergraduate degree is in Psychology (Connecticut College 1979).
At the start of my career I worked as a Family Advocate for the Head Start Program and as a Family Support Professional in the Shoreline School District. I have also worked as a counselor in residential treatment centers for adolescents and as a director of a therapeutic preschool.
I have special training in family court issues and helping families through the turbulent times of separation and divorce. I have worked as a Guardian ad Litem and Parenting Evaluator in custody cases for over sixteen years.
I am known for my listening ear and compassionate heart. I thoroughly enjoy my work and keep current in the fields of psychology and family law through continuing education.
